Ankle carry questions

i think i read somewhere on here that a guy actually found it faster to drop his pants to unholster his ankle gun than to lift up his pant legs, fight the snags, what have you. I ankle carried my 642 for awhile but found it easier to carry in the front pocket. I know you said pocket carry was not an option but thats what worked for me. ankle carry isnt the best but it beats nothing in the right situations.

how fast is the draw from you pocket holster guys when you are driving??? I drive for a living here in minnesota so for those 50 hours a week it is a bianchi triad ankle holster in winter and IWB appendics carry in summer.

I am not with a real gun friendly company and need to stay VERY concealed, i can't be going from pocket to glovebox evrey morning and afternoon. there is no written policy of carrying and if the subject never comes up all the better so i will keep as concealed but accessable as possible. I deliver 5 gallon water juggs and am in and out of truck repeatedly and I gotta say a gun in the glovebox would do me no good and i feel extremely uncomfortable about a loaded gun in truck out of my vision. I think the responseability of carring requires the firearm to be on YOUR body at all times.

to each his own i guess....i work for a company where its stated right in the employee handbook 'no weapons allowed on premises." I used to carry concealed on my person but my j-frame tended to print a little no matter where i wore it (my uniforms are a size too small) and going in and out of the office all day where the boss works it would kinda freak me out. plus the salt environment was starting to rust my gun up a little (caught in plenty of time though) so i just keep it locked in the glovebox of my personal truck. its not a great option and leaves a lot of scenarios open where i would be unarmed but in rural ct doing so keeps my job and is better than nothing at all.

The best option I have found for deep concealment is the old Seventrees/ KL Null style holster. It puts the handgun upside down under your shirt, hidden in the pit of your arm. Not the fastest method, to be sure. But spooky types have been relying on it for years. You can go without a cover shirt and unless someone frisks you they'll never know about it.

Ankle carry is what it is; a means of discretely carrying a primary pistol when belt carry isn't an option for whatever reason and a means of discretely carrying a BUG.

It's strength besides concealment is a relatively easy and discrete draw while seated. It's weakness is a relatively difficult and non-discrete draw while standing; "in-fight" the draw may be impossible.
