This next piece came from the Lance Armstrong website.

1/11 ~ Many people have associated Lance with the word "hero" - we want to tell you about a man who is one without question...

32-year-old Chief Warrant Officer Aaron Weaver was killed when the Blackhawk helicopter he was flying in was shot down over Iraq. Now giving his life for his country is certainly worthy of the word "hero", but there's a lot more to be told. You see, Aaron was not only a soldier, he was also an elite Army Ranger, having survived the ordeal in in Mogadishu as told in the film "Blackhawk Down" and saved a buddy's life in that battle.

Aaron was not only a Ranger, but he went on to earn his wings and fly the OH-58 Kiowa Warrior helicopter in the recent Iraqi war and was there flying them in the current operation.

And Aaron was not only a pilot, but he was also a recent testicular cancer survivor. He not only beat the disease, but went on to fight for his rights within the military system, getting a medical waiver so he could ship out with his unit. He wanted to go to Iraq," his father said. "When you're in a group like that (the 82d Airborne), you don't want your friends to leave you behind."

Aaron was a passenger on the shot down Blackhawk - clearly marked with a Red Cross - on his way back to get a regular check up for cancer. He left behind a wife, a 1-year-old son, a 10-year-old stepson, and was due to come home next month. Aaron Weaver is a true American hero... you can read more at the MSNBC site as well as many more stories from Google News.

Yes. May our enemies live only long enough to despair, then die violently.
