Lost Sheep, You beat me to it. That's exactly what I'm going to do, I had tried it out with the first dummy rounds I made, just not with these most resent rounds (I also made a dummy round when I set my seating die where I wanted it wrote the OAL on it with a sharpie and set it aside for future reference). They are at the same OAL as the factory Federals I have so there shouldn't be a problem. Had a hectic evening yesterday so I should be able to check them out tonight.
rfwobbly, thanks for the concern, safety should always be of number one importance and reminders never hurt, you just misunderstood my post.

If you want to use plated bullets try xtreme. I've used barry's and rainer, but the xtremes work better for me.

Still trying to work on setting up my Lee Load Master that I got for Christmas. If it was half as easy as the instructions made it out to be, I'd have been cranking out rounds already. Thank goodness for YouTube videos.

Success

Ok, today I went to the range and shot all the rounds I had made. All of the rounds cycled the gun fine, no FTF or stovepipes. I'm still undecided between the 4.6g and the 4.9g so I think I'll make a box of each and decide next time I'm out. Thanks to everyone for the help and advice. I look forward to shooting a lot more of my own rounds.:D

Hit the 1k mark

Just wanted to post that I've just loaded my 1,000th round. Thanks to everyone who helped to get me started. I'm now loading 9mm and 45acp and will probably start looking into loading for the 30-06 soon since the weather's getting nicer and I'd like to get to the outdoor rifle range more often. :D

Congrats!

The fact that you know it was your 1,000th round speaks to your record keeping.
Sounds like you have a good handle on the safety concerns associated with reloading.

Stay safe my friends!
