I'm changing from Unique to Titegroup for some .357 loads for some 158 gr LSWC's. The lee manual list the min-over all length for Unique to be 1.580 starting at 6.0 gr. My bullet seating die is set at 1.585. The manual list the OAL for Titegroup at 1.610 with a starting charge of 4.5 gr of powder. I loaded a dummy round at 1.610 and the edge of the case doesn't seat fully into the crimping groove as it does at 1.585. My question is can I stay at 1.585 with this load?

Thanks, Flip.

Flip,
Absolutely .... seating the bullet 0.025 inches further into the case isn't going to raise the pressure significantly but it sure will allow you to put a proper crimp on the bullet. You're starting off at the low end too so I think you're more than safe.

:)

This is really only going to be a pet load. Something to go to the range and punch paper with. I'll start out with the lowest charge and go from there. If I get a good accurate load that doesn't lead up the barrel, I'll stop there. I'm going to be using jacketed bullets for the fun stuff:evil:.

Thanks, Flip.
