Reading the other RRA thread I started surfing Adco. Looking at the RRA uppers I saw the SS barrel add on. I'm wanting a rifle to mainly plink with I'm not planning on it having to be a comp rifle by any means. I have a couple questions on the 1/8 barrel.

1. How much weight will the SS add over a standard barrel?
2. Is the 1/8 barrel even needed? I'm planning on shooting MilSurp 90%+ of the time but would like the ability to shoot a heavier bullet.
3. How are the SS barrels? Good quality? Durability?

I guess thats about it any other insights would be great.

Thanks

Stainless may be slightly more dense, but if the same profiles are used i doubt you would feel the difference.

is it a problem? a 1:8" twist will stabilize almost all of the .223 bullets available, so why limit yourself with a slower twist?

With exception of a chrome lined bore (might be better in your case) the SS barrels are the most durable barrels on the market. When it comes to quality (accuracy?) they are the best barrels on the market (SS not specifically RRA)

Thanks for the info. Really gotta decide if I wanna go with chrome like I had planned but that 1/8 SS is looking good.
