Just got stationed in the lovely but rather humid Pensacola Florida for MOS school and my trigger finger has been iching ever since we shot the 240s at MCT. Was wondering if any locals know of a good shooting range to go to that has some old surplus rifles to shoot (M1, M1 Carbines, SVT maybe, etc...). If anyone has any knowledge I would appreciate it.

I lived in Pensacola for over a decade, and this was the outdoor range I shot at while there.

At the time, it was called Escambia River Muzzle Loaders, but since most of the members weren't blackpowder shooters, the new name makes more sense. As I recall, it had several separate ranges separated by longitudinal berms, with several covered firing points per range. Back then, it was not unusual to have a range to yourself if you didn't come at peak hours. It is a bit out in the boonies, but I thoroughly enjoyed shooting there and would highly recommend it.

There were no rental facilities (or facilities of any kind, aside from a porta-potty) there when I was a member, but that was over a decade ago so things may have changed since.
