I have a USP 9mm that's only firing about every other round.... looks like a spring-related light strike since the gun is nearly spotless. It's a KG date code (11 years old if I found correct info) so I'm thinking that the springs are probably just a bit compressed/weak.

I've decided to replace all the springs on this thing rather than just one at a time, and I found everything I need at Numrich. However, they are listing some of these springs as "new style" and "old style." Can anybody tell me which a KG date code is and what the cutoff year was?

so you're the WWB dude... I think you should send that unreliable weapon to me for safe disposal :)

go to hk-usa.com click on the forum. You might as well send it in, they'll replace those for you.

Thanks for the input guys.... I registered at the HKPro forums earlier today, but they took a while sending the confirmation email so I could finish the registration and post.

Just FYI gudel.... my Sig 229 eats those WWB just fine. I found that the striker block spring and striker return spring were making contact with each other in the striker channel.... the block spring had a kink in the end where the it had protruded into the striker channel and bound up with the striker. So.... instead of sending the defective weapon in to you I think I'll keep it and just replace the springs..... ;)

you should sign up on hk-usa.com. your post on the forum will be directly seen by HK customer service; and they do reply to your private message and forum post.

no problem with WWB on my USP9, USP45 and P2000 here. Actually, there's never any problem with any of them with any ammo. :D

Glad to hear you were able to diagnose the problem.

The USP is an exceptionally reliable weapon, you almost never hear of one that won't fire when the trigger is pulled......
