Any idea about Ohio Reciprocity?

I can't find anything on Ohio reciprocity. Does it exist? Are there any future plans to introduce/consider it?

I am happy that Ohio residents can CCW but I was hoping that Kentuckians (and others) could carry there too.

I occasionally visit Ft. Mitchell (KY) just south of Cincinatti on business. I refuse to dine or otherwise patronize businesses in Cincinatti while CCW is not legal for me there. I thought Ohio's new law might change things for me but maybe not.

I checked packing.org but there is not much there. (They seem to indicate that OHIO honors no other state's CCW.)

I just thought perhaps that maybe they planned to offer reciprocity at some future date or were finishing the details (which states to honor, etc.) but most likely I am just "out of luck" in Ohio.

Thanks for the response!

Nothing yet.

The State has to go thru the motions and see what other states meets Ohio's requirements and then it has to be approved.

I dont expect anything in the near future. Maybe by the end of the year at best.

I am a resident of Ohio but live in Arizona (a military thing) and go home to Ohio to visit family on occasion. So I am waiting to see how the Reciprocity goes as you are.

If nothing comes up by summer then when I go home to see my brother I plan on applying for my CCW from Ohio.

I have tried reading the new Ohio CCW law (a mere 144 pages...that's right one hundred fourty-four pages in Adobe.pdf format) but I haven't found anything on reciprocity yet.

I am not a lawyer, but to the best of my knowledge, no reciprocity is in effect yet.

Thanks guys!

I thought maybe I missed something. Eventually they might get around to having reciprocity.

Reciprocity: 3/29/2004

The following states have accepted our CCW program and will be honoring our permits as well: Alaska, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah.

In addition you may apply for a permit for the state of Florida by mail once you have your Ohio Permit to carry and it will allow you to carry in most of the southern states as well.
