i just traded my keltec 32 for a used blued ruger p95 anyone out there like these guns? any exspiriences? carry one? will full cap mags for the p89 fit flush in the gun? how does the all polymer frame stand up with the polymer rails? thanks for any info:cool:

I had one for many years and thoroughly enjoyed it. Accuracy, feel and function were great. Never had a problem with it.

Only two negatives to the P95 that I'm aware of:
1. DA trigger pull is a little long
2. If you ever have to adjust the rear sight for windage, it's a royal
pain in the patoot! The fit of the sight to the dove tail is extremely
tight.

The main reason I gave it up was to standardize the feel, triggers and functions of all my semi's. It was a real sweet pistol.

I like mine. I have two of them. 100% reliable! I have
never use them for a ccw. I usually keep one in the nightstand
and one in the car.

I got one right now sitting beside me (loaner for a holster)...The only thing I can pick out that I dislike is the LONGGGG DA pull...A nice trigger job may help..I dunno

Owned one, and sold it. Regretted it so much I bought a 2nd one. Sturdy, accurate and one can learn the trigger. :)

Same goes with it's bigger brother, the P97. Own my second one of them now, too. Same story as the P95.

I had one about 6 years ago . I put 20K thru it with out a hicup . One day a buddy at the range offered me more than I paid for it new , and he left with it .

I have prolly put about 200 rounds through the one I borrow from time to time...never a problem...It just has that nasty "RUGER" name on it:D

Have the stainless decock only. No problems or complaints of any kind. I adapted to the trigger..so most trigger complaints are lost on me. Have a couple of 15 round Mecgars for it that fit flush (from cdnninvestments) that work flawlessly as well. My nightstand is well armed. Good investment.

The P95 was my first ever handgun.

I love it! It's an amazingly reliable and accurate gun. They will handle any ammo you throw at it, and will run for 10's of thousands of rounds w/o any problems!

You couldn't ask for a better gun for a better price!

Ditto all these positive P95 comments. I had a stainless one, too, the decock-only model P95DC. It was my CCW piece as well as my duty gun during a stint as a Reserve Deputy with the local Sheriff's Office. Super-reliable if maybe just a little on the chunky side. Accurate enough to help me get the second-highest qualification score at the department range (hey, first-place was an IPSC shooter with a Para-Ord! :).)

I wound up selling mine to a fellow Reservist along with the duty leather...I've come close to picking up another one but have lately been smitten with SIGs.

I have had two. The cecocker broke and fell out of both of mine. I broke a spring in one and had a total loss of function. When they came back from the Ruger factory I sold them both. When they worked, they were accurate. I had 0 problems with my P-97 though. I would NOT feel comfortable with a P-95 as a CCW/duty weapon at all. The DA pull is looooooooooooooooooooooooooong.

im putting a hogue slip on grip on it hoping it will make the gun feel better and not so slick the double action pull on mine isnt that bad and single action is good nowhere near as good as my sigpro though im going to use it as a truck ,car , sometimes carry gun

The P-95 is one of my main handguns. It is very utilitarian and cheap for its quality. It is ugly but the slip-on Hogue rubber grip helps. 17 round, flush-fit, Mec-Gar mags are available and give the gun quite a bit of firepower. Although they are bulky, they are only 27 oz. empty. Totally reliable and reasonably accurate. One of the best values in handguns. The P-89 is heavier and bigger, but also a fine pistol. The 89 uses the same mags as the 95.

Back when i was still living with my folks, my father had one and it was the first centerfire auto pistol i ever got to shoot on a regular basis. the ONLY things that ever went wrong in which that pistol was involved were our fault (a sqib re-load, and a fairly comical snafu involving pushing the gun TOO far into a cloth holster and having the mag-catch snag the seam at the lip of the holster, letting the mag pop out of position but NOT drop free... untill the first round was fired  as in "BANG, Hey! why's my mag falling out!!!" )

great guns, as far as i know all the high-caps for Ruger 9mms will work fine.

Got one...

Mine doesn't like Winchester White Box.

I also have a PC9...fun combination. I have the 95DC with a Hogue Handall on the grip. I also had Mep's put on it. As long is it isn't White Box, it goes bang. Accurate enough for my needs.

I get a certain sense of satisfaction that I have full cap Mec-Gar's for both. Bill said I didn't need more than 10 - no honest man would...but I'd say he's the one that was the traitor to honesty....no honest man would tell another honest man how many rounds he can carry.
