Any resource for dating a Henry rifle?

I just swapped in a replacement magazine tube on my Henry .22LR rifle and noticed the new one has a different follower, something I've never seen before:

That got me to wondering just how old the rifle is. It has no model number on it and its serial number is 0810XX. Anybody know about when it was produced or how I'd find out?

Anybody know if the mag followers always looked like that? The original didn't have that appendage there. I don't know if it broke off or it never existed in the originals.
 
Ask Henry.

WRT "originals", I thought that Henry bought the design from Ithaca, who imported them from Germany originally. I'm not sure of the timeline.
