Just found this thread. KC9VFG. General ticket since Jan 2012. Currently running a Kenwood TS-480 as a home base but can go mobile fairly easily. I'm mostly on 17 or 20 meters trying to work DX.
I am currently a tech, but now that I’m retired I’ll start studying for the General license.
I run a 2M/70cm Yaesu with a 2M beam and two groundplane antennas at home.
Also, I am installing a 2M Kenwood rig in my airplane. Actually the rig is in, but I’m trying to figure out where the best place to put the antenna that will absolutely not cause any interference with the avionics.
If there’s an Elmer out there that has some experience with this I would appreciate some help.
73.…. Doc
Just to keep this thread legal, I plan to use the radio to advise members at my shooting range that I’ll be doing a water bomb drop at a target near the berm.
