Anybody ever had extensive engraving done?

What can you look to spend on a good engraving job on let's say, the receiver of a lever gun? No inlays or pictures, just scrolling. I know you get what you pay for, but I'm looking for a ballpark. Also, can you successfully blue over engraving evenly? Thanks for any help

I came across a guy on this site who just did a 1911 and it was beautiful. He said he was going to work on some knives next. I've read a lot of posts recently, if I come across it again, I'll update this post.
