As a change of pace, I thought I'd put out a thread on a Mateba that isn't about finding/buying one for a collection
Though I'd love to own one, they are just too rare, so it'd be easier to just build one, right? Nah, joking, but I am interested in how they function.
I am aware that the entire upper frame, barrel, and cylinder recoil back together on a slide, but what actuates the cylinder rotation? Is there a pawl/hand that pushes gear teeth near the axle, like a typical SA/DA revolver, or does something engage the outside of the cylinder, like a Webley-Fosbury (but more elegant, of course). I've heard stories that these guns go out of time easier than most others; if true, what usually causes these issues?
If anybody knows, I'm all ears,
TCB
