Anybody here hunt with a Crossbow?

Just got permission to hunt on an excellent spot. Unfortunately it'll be archery only. Crossbows are legal here.

How well do they work (as well as a normal bow)?

What's a good basic crossbow?

Anything else I should know about these things?
