Just curiou if any of you who wear glasses use one of these scopes and if so how they work for you with the rubber eye piece. I have taken the rubber piece off of the scope and shoot without it because I don't like the feel of the rubber piece as it recoils back at me.

I am thinking of leaving the rubber piece off and replacing it with a Butler Creek lense cover. Anybody know the size to get?

Thanks
Chris

I use one. Don't like the rubber hitting my glasses, but its not big deal. I'm shooting a .223 with it (SAR-3) and not much recoil.

Never tried taking it off. Have to try that...

I have a POSP 4x24 for my SAR-1. It works great with or without the rubber piece, but it probably cuts glare a bit and may make the scope more usable if the light is behind you. I did find that to get proper eye relief with my glasses on, I had to slide the rubber piece over the back of the scope much further than it is designed to go. There is a change in thickness of the rubber piece that is designed to "headspace" on the back of the eyepiece bezel; I had to pull it forward at least a half inch or so past that. Another plus is it would probably keep rain off the eyepiece lens (though I haven't had it in the rain).

A junky "Made in Belarus" Weaver side-rail mount that I picked up a while back didn't line up over the center axis of the receiver... IIRC, it was quite a bit to the left--so much so that I couldn't adjust the windage of the scope I put on there nearly enough. Does the PSO series have this design flaw?

I took the rubber eyepiece off as soon as I got both of mine. They have a "coolness look" factor but they are pretty useless.

Yep, I shoot the dragunov without the eyepiece on the scope. I suppose it woudln't be so bad if I didn't have glasses, but other people prefer it without the piece on there too who have shot it.

Just seeing if I was the only one. I really like the scope. Very clear optics but the rubber eye piece had to go.

Anyway I just attached a Butler Creek quick open lense protector and it worked like a charm.

Thanks
Chris

No, PSO's do not have the "not enough windage" problem. Mine is slightly left of center on the rifle, but not enough to change POI noticeably from 100 to 200 yards.
