Wondering if anyone on here carries an XD 3" subcompact, and which holster and carry method (IWB, etc.) do you use? Do you have any pics of you (or anyone else) with a 3" XD in a holster concealed? I'm looking at carry options for one of these for a friend. Thanks!

I bought a Don Hume Open Top OWB holster, but I don't use it. The 3" XD is too heavy in the grip and OWB it tends to fall out a bit. It's definitely less concealable OWB. I have a generic IWB holster/pouch that actually works really well, but I think I'll get something different. I will definitely keep carrying IWB, but I haven't decided if I'm just going to bite the bullet and get an EMP, so that's why I haven't invested the money in a new IWB holster. It's easy to carry though, just a little thick.

Thanks. Also, is the XD holster that comes with it IWB or OWB? Anyone actually use that holster? Is it any good?

The XD Gear holster (OWB) is not well suited to CC, but works fine for trail/woods carry. It cants to the outside quit a bit, making it stick out too far for decent Concealment. I carry my new (Used but new to me) XD9SC in a cheap $10 IWB holster. I use the same holster for carrying my G19. Both guns sit low into to waistband and conceal very well.

I carry an XD 40sub compact in a Don HUme H721 and believe that it hides rather well. You will however have to invest in a good belt to hold the holster upright. Mine happens to be a Bianchi but there are a lot of choices out there.

Thanks for the replies, and thanks for the pic, MNBud!

I tried several IWB holsters with my XD9 SC and found that the High Noon Tuckable (I think it's called the Split Decision) worked the best. As stated above, I had to invest in a good belt to make it stay put.

Finally got my EMP. It's now my carry gun. Smaller and easier to conceal. Luckily, it fits most to the holsters I have already purchased, so I disn't have to start over.

I have a comp tac CTAC IWB holster for my XD9SC and it works fine with a gunbelt. I have switched to a glock 26 in a CTAC though. The grip angle and 1/2" shorter grip makes a surprising difference on me for concealability.

I carry the XD40 SC every day:

OWB in an Infinity Belt Slide

IWB in a UBG Striker I (www.UBGHolsters.com)

I prefer the UBG Striker for most days because of the comfort and concealability. It is made tough as nails, finely crafted and the price is right!
