I've loved the round for years and just found a pretty nice 98 Mauser, built around an Husqvarna 146 with a buggered receiver.
Colorado gunsmith, Mike McCabe had put this together. He replaced the receiver that had some bad sidemount holes and a botched repair of them with a Styer action that was re-heat treated, added a Talley bolt handle, trued the action, bedded it, added a barrel band and a Mdl 70 type safety. He made a nice patch in the side of the stock where the sidemount cut out had been, made this all up for himself, then he sold it to me for a righteous price.
My Ruger Hawkeye African in 9,3X62 will soon be for sale.
The group is 3/4" 5 shot at 100 yards. Sorry it's so ragged; my target tape was cheap Chinese electrical tape.
Eventually it will get this bottom metal and double-set trigger.
If I ever recover from "Hope & Change" I'll try to get back to Africa one more time and kill a buffalo with it.
