Anyone else shoot off the porch?

I'm thankful

Yep. Live on a dirt road in northern Vermont and most of my neighbors shoot off their porch for recreation fire. I have a berm at 50 yards off to the side of the porch and 100 yards or so from the back. It will end some day as the population grows and every one from MA wants to move into the country and civilize us woodchucks. Can't pee off the porch wife's flower bed is in the way....that's sacred ground and a good way to get fed to the hogs.

I live within city limits. It's a very small town, but no shooting in town is allowed. I shoot BB pistols off the back deck at cans I have swinging from the trees. Nothing but a "nature area" behind the house. Sometimes I put my .22 spinner targets out there and shoot them with BB's too.

No, can't shoot off the back porch since I screened it in last year but I can open the door. Wife gets irritated about holes in the screens. I did a good job, forgot about the screen and threw most of a cup of coffee into it. I get to go out and play next week.

I shoot off my porch all the time -- I've killed deer and squirrels, even turkey from there. And when there are crows in the pasture, I like to slide out the back door, crawl along the side porch, lie prone with my left hand on the bottom railing, and rest my .22 Hornet.

Did it one time when the wife was home, and she said, "What are you mad about?"

"Nothing,"

"Well, why did you slam the door?"

I had to explain what that sound was.:D

Total envy! My range is just down the road from me, my good friend has a 8 acre back field on his farm with a huge burm at the end. All my shooting buddies think I have it soooo good. Most of the time I need my 4x4to get back there. GREEN! with envy.
I'd be jealous of yours, even if I could still shoot off of my back porch.

I like shooting and off roading. A range well off the beaten path sounds ideal to me.
