I've decided that I'm going to need some SERIOUS work done to my gun collection. I'm posting this thread to get some food for thought.

I've got two remingtons, an old smith, and a bunch of others with a bunch of surface rust - I took a lot off with elbow grease, but theres still work to be done.

Often times I've wondered about how a dual-finish would look. I'm toying with the idea of giving my business to Robar and having them do some work to the following guns.

Benelli, 2 Remingtons and perhaps one or two glocks - Roguard all around. I'm also going to have the S&W custom shop restore this old model 39 (BEST SMITH AUTOLOADER EVER) and work on both my wheelguns. New tubes for the benelli and remington (9 shots ought to do it) and action work too.

Para P14 - NP3 the frame, Roguard the slide. Similar to like the Para's nowadays for the accented look. See below.

Basically I'd have something looking like a hard chrome frame with the roguard slide accented with a new safety, slide release, mag release and beavertail all in black - and I'm going to see what I can do to the top end. Para didnt dovetail in the front sight so I'm going to have the front sight redone (leaning towards Dawson Precision FO) and either Heinies or Bo-Mar's on the rear - with the slide shaved and (tri) cut to resemble an SVI.

Here's the top and the profile:

I also like the sawtooth panel look but prefer the high LPI front slide serrations. All in all the slide would be cut to look something like this.

The hammer and sear are fine, but I'd have the requisite trigger job done for optimal performance. Perhaps an SV Triglide bow and appropriate tuning. Perhaps I'll have Derek cut the frame and fit in a beavertail and a new MSH that's checkered with a tasteful magwell.

Anyone ever do this drastic transformation to a plain jane 1911?

Also: Anyone have experience with Roguard or NP3? If I spend $250 on a finish, I want to hear some feedback.
