Anyone heard of Mossberg 50521

I was looking for either a Mossberg 500 with a 18.5" barrel in 12 gauge. I was leaning towards the 50411 BUT I couldn't find it any cheaper than $319 locally.

Today I bought a Mossberg 500 18.5" barrel and is Parkerized. Model is 50521. I don't see it on Mossberg's website though?????
I found it for $259! This is $60 cheaper than the 50411 AND has a parkerized finish which I believe usually is more money than the blued versions. I has a different forearm stock which imo looks nicer. It also appears to have a shorter shoulder stock is shorter and has a better recoil pad than the 50411 model which I thought was a plus.

So I do have a few questions.
1) Why is this model 50521 cheaper than the 50411?
2) Why isn't this listed on Mossberg's website?

I notice a great deal of discussion on the net about them from about 4 years ago.

My guesses as to why they are not on Mossberg's website now are:
1. A 2006-07 model Mossberg discontinued, and they still haven't sold all of them.

Or:
2. A law enforcement contract over-run the distributors got their hands on to dispose of.

The only negative I can find is that it has a integrated forearm like the Maverick 88 BUT I don' plan on changing it anyway.

Seems to be a "Sports South distributor-only" model. Same one you linked to at http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/812/products_id/39622 .

Besides the MAVERICK 88 I think you got the best gun for the money........this one is on my "short" list, but as someone previously said these will probably run out, although BUDS has run out of them several times but they keep getting restocked.

PARKERIZED is definitely a big plus........
and if you don't like the PG you can sell it on EBAY easy and get some money back!

I never heard of this model until today. I bought it at a gun show (sucks because I bought it from a local gun shop that I could probably have went to the store and not pay the $6 entrance fee to the show).

All I knew was that I was leaning towards the #50411. I saw the 50521 that had better feature for me (shorter shoulder stock, better recoil pad, nicer looking forearm, parkerized finish) and was $60 cheaper.

I also saw the Maverick 88 for $199 new and a used one for $150. Great deal also but I had a few extra dollars to spare on the Mossberg 500.
