What's cool this year?

I'm mostly interested in:

1. What's new in pocket pistols?
- Any new offerings being chambered in the .32 NAA?
- Any small 9mm's to compete with Kahr.....perhaps for less $...something between Kel-Tec and Kahr.

2. What's new in the budget 1911 category?
- Did Taurus give any dates on when the 9mm 1911 will be available?
- Any makers competing with the Taurus market? (budget 1911's)

I didn't see anything exciting in that category. Rohrbaugh is caught up with their backlog, which is really nice. I didn't see any new pocket guns at all.

I didn't see anything new on the really cheap side. I didn't talk with Taurus specifically about dates. The STI Spartan is the hotness in the $600 range.

I didn't see anything new and innovative at all at the show
Except for TCs new rifles.
Which may only be new and innovative to me, I'm not really much of a modern rifle guy

Over on 10mmtalk, there was discussion about Taurus coming out with a model 810, a semi auto 10mm.
That's exciting to me.

The HK45 was sweet.

Loved the 4in Ruger Redhawk in .44mag, along with Target version of the Ranch Rifle.

Also, those Armalite Turkish pistols feel very nice. THe new ones will come with rubber grips.

I believe its being discussed on another thread but Kel-Tec's new RFB bull-pup rifle was getting a lot of attention.

EDIT: Sorry, just realized I'm in the handguns forum! Please disregard!

Yeah, there was a ton of really cool rifles, but I didn't get excited about much in the way of handguns. There was some nice stuff, and some refined designs, but nothing really new or innovative.

My one problem with the HK45 was the magazine release. I've got mega gorilla hands (I operate an AK safety with my trigger finger) and I still had to shift my grip to release the magazine on that one. I was also really dissapointed that they didn't do anything to improve the trigger. An HK trigger can be made decent, but the factory ones tend to be heavy and gritty, and I was hoping this new one would remedy that, but nope, same as ever.

Dopn't worry about it
That is something I might be interested in

I am extremely interested in Bullpups for some reason

Correia, that's unfortunate to hear about the trigger on the HK45. The trigger on USPs is the one thing that really needed some help, and I thought it would be fixed. In one of the articles that I read on the HK45, Hackathorn stated that the he liked the USP45 except for its bulk in the grip and trigger. I had hopes that the HK45 trigger would have been improved.

Oh well. Still very interested in the gun, though.
