AR 15 barrel brand

I think you misread a bit of what I said. I said I’ve been using Ballistic Advantage ONLY, for several years, but offered I believe we(you & I) have different uses for our AR’s. So I didn’t recommend a BA barrel for you. I instead put out you be looking at top shelf barrels.

The Odin Works is much like BA barrels. Same for Faxon. In fact, you should in all honesty, check Who makes the barrels for Odin Works. I strongly encourage this.
Odin makes their own barrels, gas blocks...every save some trigger group parts.

They start with Baraga, and McGowan blanks..far as I can find. If you go to their sight, you can see a blank getting turned in their shop in Idaho.

Well, they grind the contour. That’s really it. They get blanks that are already bored, rifled & lapped. Nor do they make the extensions.this is why their barrels cost more. Because they use rifles blanks. They do the same that Randall Rousch does at AR15barrels. Buys someone else’s blanks, grinds a contour & calls it their own. BA & Faxon start with either 416R or CroMoV steel , round Bar Stock. They then Bore, Button Rifle & Lapp their own blanks, which are then contoured to whatever profile. The only thing done apart from either manufacturer is the finishing(Nitriding, Chrome lining), because no barrel maker does that themselves.

lol..no, Odin does the bore also. I have a BA, I know whats is bore looks like..the Odin blows it out of the water.

Sorry, you really need to do a little research. Odin starts with a blank..unbored blank, bores them and laps them..to a very high mirror. 16510048289485084117849718926090.jpg

just got it today

I need to do research? Believe what you wish. Makes no difference to me. You actually contradicted yourself though?? What happened to them getting blanks from Baraga & McGowan? But now they bore their own? I don’t think you quite understand how a barrel is made.

I never said they were junk. But they aren’t accuracy driven barrels. They are no better than Faxon, BA, FN.. They simply cost more because they PAY MORE buying blanks.

But have fun.

You tube video of their shop buddy. Rifle lathe cutting rifling into a BLANK..but whatever dude...

BA sucks..bought their best top of the line heavy bull barrel..only shoots one weight bullet worth a cow pattie, Faxon has a long list of complaints on several forums, thats why I never ever considered them. ...but if they float your boat...go nuts.

Far as the "best"..sorry. Not even Odin is on that list.

Krieger, Hart, etc...all have that title.

If you’re going with a chrome lined service barrel, I’d just get a FN from Palmetto.
I bought a Palmetto Arms upper to use for building an A2 to practice with to spare my match rifle barrel (CMP Service ).
Darn thing is ALMOST as accurate as the Wilson after break in. 1.5moa with Federal 55gr ball. Under MOA with 75gr Hornady BTHP match. It’s a flat top upper so I put the RRA sight/ handle on it and put a WOA PINNED 1/2moa on my RRA.

Due to my advancing arthritis, my High Power and PPC days are over. Pain in my right shoulder keeps me from even holding up the 16lb RRA... (I’m a “lefty btw).

Here is a vote against Radical. They are here is Houston, so I have bought a bit of their AR stuff, piecemeal and complete. Their barrels can be finicky and the feed ramps sometimes need some work. Their customer service guys can range from helpful to cranky. There are better options out there.
