Hey everyone
Haven't posted in a long time but I thought id write a thread about my new AR-15 build. I had written before about how I bought a AR lower reciever for my gf a couple years ago. Well that ended and that build turned into a M16A1 upper with a collapsing stock but due to the memories associated with it I parted with it and traded it to a freind and the rifle has been dubbed the heart breaker.

After a few years of being single again I find myself in a relationship with an awesome lady. Coincindentally I met another lady interested in firearms and she and I have been going to the range regularly and shooting. She has shot many of my firearms, and for her birthday I bougth her a Baikal Makarov .380 which she greatly enjoys. After shooting many of my firearms and some of my freinds firearms she has is gravitating to AR-15. The same freind I traded the heart breaker too ended up amassing a bunch of other AR parts which he traded me before I moved to Tennesee and so again I have begun a AR-15 build for my partner.

Currently this is what I have aquired:
Stripped Bushmaster M16A2 upper
Bush master 5.56 1/9 chrome lined, H-BAR 14.5 with AK-74 style brake
Stripped front site assembly no bayonet lug
complete front site assembly with lug
gas tube
Carbine USGI hand gaurds
MOE carbine hand gaurds
USGI cocking handle
Unknown USGI complete bolt and carrier like new (bought at Knob Creek)
Stubby stock, short buffer tube
colapseable 3 position buffer tube
carbine buffer spring and buffer
M16A1, M16A2 pistol grips

I am also getting a upper parts kit from brownells for the forward assist, springs and pins dust cover ect....

now I need a complete lower and It should be finished.

Its going to be a KISS carbine, Id like to get light wieght carbine barrel in place of the H-BAR, id also like it to have an M16A1 upper or C7 but I can't find one.

Hope this is of some interest to you all.

I agree about ditching the HBAR. It's just dead weight. Pick up a Govt. Profile midlength and you'll be golden.

The lightweight upper recievers pop up and AR15.com Equipment exchange every once in a while. Look for threads marked 'Retro'.
