AR Forward-Assist Question

In time spent in the army i saw foward assist used on some occasions,it's included in SPORTS as in clearing a misfire,i've saw individuals use the FA to chamber a round that for various reasons didnt need to be chambered and as a result ripped the case head off, general rule of thumb if the round doesnt want to seat dont force it,if so you better have a back up plan.

Stoner originally designed it without the assist, the dished out part of the bolt carrier was meant to be used to thumb th ebolt shut, but like a lof of theings, the military demanded it, and so we have it.
