"It is very difficult for me to report that Dick Overman passed on today - Memorial Day - after a long and courageous battle with cancer. I suppose it's fitting that a Marine officer would go to his God today of all days. Those of us who loved him will of course miss him greatly. His dedication to the Marine Corps, his wife and friends, his country. His unabashed dedication to preserving the principles of the Constitution and the Second Amendment and teaching proper use of weapons through his CHL classes were his primary concerns as he weakened from the effects of chemotherapy and radiology. We honor him today and cherish his memory. Memorial day will now have an even greater meaning for those of us privileged enough to have known him.
