I just received a new Buffer (the actaul device that looks like a metal plug), and was inspecting it. If you were to shake it softly like a rattle, is it supposed to have some loose parts inside of it? It is a standard length buffer assembly. My cabine buffer does the same thing. Is this normal? What am I hearing? I dont want my AR to sound like a beer can with rocks init...you know?!

Thank you. DML

The best advice to you is to lube up your buffer and spring with something nice and goopy. Personally, I like Militec. Otherwise, it'll sound like the world's largest, cheapest screen door every time it recoils, right next to your ear, no less.

Perfectly normal, and I reccomend not putting anything goopy on the spring.

The "sproing" is a good noise. It makes that noise when the bolt carrier goes back into battery. No sproing means the mag is empty, or you have a more serious problem.
