Are Wolff "extra power" firing pin springs better?

They are a CYOA for the extra-power recoil spring.
The extra strength keeps the firing pin from flying foreword quite so easily when the slide slams shut.
Just suppose for instance, that the new extra-power recoil spring increased slide velocity by 10 or 20%.
And that was enough extra speed, combined with your old weak firing pin spring, to make your semi-auto go full-auto!
It also improves drop safety on guns that don't have a positive firing pin block.
In some instances they can cause light primer strikes.
Whether or not you install them is up to you, but so far, I have not seen the need for them.

Are they necessary? Probably not. I'd agree that it's a CYA item. However, Wolff springs are better than OEM springs, so you may as well install it since you've got it.
