Does anyone know if Fobus or any other companies make the mid length handguards with weaver rails??

I looked at Samco's website and didn't see them. I would prefer the 4 sided set for a forward grip, and anything else I may want to add in the future.

I would appreciate any websites or locations that these can be purchased. Or any personal opinions as to whether or not they are worth the money

I asked this question a while back on a few other boards. Doesn't seem to be any out there. :(

I also sent an email to Samco asking if they had plans to produce one in the near future and they said they were considering it. I'd suggest you send them a messege as well. The more the better.

The only other option is using one (or several) of the bolt on rails that mount to the holes in a regular handguard. Brownell's sells them....I think made by AAC.

When I was thinking about buying a mid-length carbine, I somehow wound up speaking to "the only" maker of the handguards. When I found that out I decided to get something standard, as I don't like sole source items. I don't think you'll see many accessories out there for them right now.

Just in case you folks are curious, I found the handguards in question at the Armalite website. The MSRP is like $175, but they look pretty sweet, they are two piece, aluminum and have the 4 sided weaver rail. I also found that Cavalry arms makes the generic handguards for the mid length carbine.

I can see it now, ACE ARFX stock and some 4 sided handguards.......I like it already

I have a Cavalry Arms C4 (A1 length) buttstock. It's well made. I assume the HGs are the same.

If you don't already have the rifle, I'd suggest taking a look at the 16" bbl Dissipator option from Bushmaster. It uses standard full length HGs and places the front sight in the same place as on the 20" bbl version. The additional sight radius is very helpful when shooting irons with older eyes like mine.

I already have the rifle, and love it. I really don't need the handguards, but had thought about mounting a forward pistol grip. I will let you all know if I get the HG's
