where do the armalite ar 15's rank among some of the more popular makers? i know the ar-10 is suposed to be right at the top but do the ar 15's have the same quality reputation, and how is armalites customer service? i do not know much about their company except they are owned by eagle arms... which is another company i dont know much about... any info would be much appreciated! sry for another ar 15 topic... i see there has been a bunch in light of the politicsof the week? thanx in advance for any opinions.

Spotty finish on Armalites

I recently spent several weeks looking at different AR15s. To my surprise and disappointment two AR15s and one AR10 (for comparison) had spotty finishes. The finish on all three had areas of semi-gloss and flat black on the same portion of metal. It seems like these three, two at one store in Salt Lake and another at a store in Ogden had inconsistent finishes. They may be great shooters.

The Armalites are on the same level as the Bushmaster, S&W, RRA, and Stag. The Armalites are usually more expensive and harder to find in stores.

While I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with Armalites, I would not say they are as good as "any other company".

They are in the middle of the road. Better than Olympic or DPMS, but not as good as LMT or Charles Daly. MAKster has it about right as to their competition. Personally, I'd take one over an RRA or a Bushmaster.

Armalite has a loyal customer here. The only malfunction my M15 carbine has ever had was using a cheap 40 round mag. My AR-10 carbine has been flawless with the second generation magazines.

Accuracy is comparable to any other AR carbine.
