Assault weapons in San Fran

OK...they describe it as "automatic gunfire", and yet the suspects only fired 34 rounds in one case, and a couple dozen in the other. That's what, a total of 2 seconds of firing?

And they fired from the hip, into the projects, and even into a crown at a BBQ, and only managed to actually hit 2 people. So much from the Brady/VPC spray-fire mass killing theory.

But this is my favorite quote:

Broberg said the suspects had fired on the barbecue put on by the Peacemakers group, without fear.

Could it be because they knew that a group called the Peacemakers would be unarmed, at least in the PRK (especially in the PDSRSF)?

estimated two-dozen rounds from what witnesses described as M-16s, police said.
Yeah...rrrriiiiiiiiiiight.

Though it does seem like the turf wars 'tween the boys from West Mob and Big Block are heating up again; just in time for Summer vacation for the kids.

Could it be because they knew that a group called the Peacemakers would be unarmed,
Probably not; you're assigning critical thinking skills to some very... well there's no polite way to say it; these guys are morons.

No, most likely they did know that the Peacemakers are made up of former gang bangers that got on the straight and narrow, in addition to some local church and community leaders. Someone was trying to settle an old score is more likely. Or I could just go with my original idea... that these guys are idiots.

Does anyone really think that people in San Francisco, with the notable exceptions of QuarterBore and other THR'ers, know the difference between automatic and semi-automatic gun-fire when they hear it???

Peacemakers-unarmed people unable to defend themselves.

BAD GUYS - people who violated a whole bunch of laws and were able to attack with impunity!

The answer by the lily-livered SF Pols will be....We need more gun laws to make sure the Peacemakers stay unarmed and that the BAD GUYS have more laws to break!

BBBAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! BAAAA!! BAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Spoke the sheeople of San Francisco!

Thank God, we had our strict gun laws to protect us.
:banghead: :fire: :banghead:

P.S. I definitely know the difference between semi and auto fire. Semi is like the sounds of a teenage rock group practicing for the first time and full auto is like sweet music of a well practiced symphony.

Potrero Hill (or the "Po" as it is called locally)has a normal middle class everyday America half, a DMZ and beyond that the projects. The DMZ on the eastern side of the hill is an empty lot that separates normal America from the projects. The most crooked street in the world is on that hill and that's not the fancy & safe one on Lombard St. where all the Tourist goes. It's by 18th & Kansas and was featured in one of the Dirty Harry Flicks.

4v50Gary- wow, I'm impressed- you know about the 'secret crooked street that's actually the crookedest but isn't in a good spot for the tourists'.

And your description of Potrero is sadly accurate also. They have some good restaurants on th Hill especially on 18th, but I always carry TWO guns in that neighborhood.

I read that article in the Examiner (don't like to pay money for the Chron) and I am surprised that it didn't mention the AWB sunset later this year. They did, however, mention that such evil assault weapons are already banned, and related that the ban is ineffective. Go, Examiner.
