ATF makes braced pistols AOWs & SBRs

This news just came out today per Guns & Gadgets on utube.. Apparently the Military Arms Channel posted on Facebook today too but I didn't see anything on his utube channel. Makes your braced ARs and AKs AOWs and SBRs per ATF's latest 180 change on stabilizing braces. Here we go again.

Ridiculous, time to start pushing back against this tyranny. And to all those who said “give them bump stocks,” well after the braces go, what do you think they’ll come after next?

Get a clue people, there cannot be an inch given, they are banning pieces of plastic that meet the criteria of the law (i.e. bump stocks: one pull, one bullet).

Now they are discriminating against handicapped veterans, with this brace flip flopping. Abolish the NFA, and its tyranny.

I really want to know where this is headed. I was about to order a brace to put on my contender. It’s already too late to file for a stamp because I’m sure that a very blue government will not fund the payroll for those workers.

Lots of people around here share some blame.

That’s debatable. I will stand as firm as any man and fight for the 2A but I’m not fighting for some dime store halfassed workaround whose sole purpose is to break the law without potential for recourse. What happened is taken out of context by a lot of folks who like braces. I don’t like them because of the legal BS around them, but I do see their purpose when used as a brace, not a stock that’s not a stock.

At the root of it, a brace is a tool designed to help stabilize a pistol of some sort to allow for more accuracy and more precise aiming. Awesome. This is super helpful to folks who have suffered an injury to an arm and need that help to shoot accurately. That is akin to a handicap spot being helpful to folks with mobility issues. All the folks with braces don’t go around parking in handicap spots just to enjoy that closer spot do they? No they don’t. They got away with their BS workaround long enough, and now Uncle Sam is catching on and lots of folks have had their hand in the cookie jar. Now it’s back to being a pay to play system if this goes the way the video says. So maybe it’s more like the kids who snuck in at the drive-in through the hole in the fence. The hole just got fixed. I

That’s not a popular view here and I know it, but that’s ok. I don’t have to be popular.

Many gun owners do not like to hear the truth here but, this is on gun owners. Gun owners LONG ago told law makers 2A was not a "right". That it was a privilege. Once Pandora's box was opened it was too late. So year after year we get "compromises". A large swath of gun owners go along for different reasons. The big one "I don't have any of xyz, so I don't care". That works great until they want to take something from them. Of course by then too late. I know many gun owners who refuse to vote, saying we are so out numbered its a waste. Well if they keep that up they can soon see CA type gun laws everywhere. <shrug>

Alright, if this is not true, the status quo has not changed. I read a week or two ago the ATF put a 60 day stay on the Honey Badger, so I don't see why two weeks later they'd reverse on that with declaring all braced pistols SBR's and AOW's.

If true I hope everyone is watching how fast something went from legal to illegal overnight because that's the same exact thing that will happen with semi automatic firearms thanks to the 2A collective for not backing Congress passing a bill to add bump stocks to the NFA and instead allowed the ATF to do it because a law is set in stone.

If true it's unfortunate and maddening because how many millions of braced pistols have been sold the past few years that are now NFA items? How many Mossberg Shockwaves were sold that had a brace put on them that will also be NFA? The ATF will be putting millions of legal gun owners thru the BS of registering their guns and paying the tax.

My hope is with a majority on SCOTUS being pro gun that a lawsuit gets filed and it gets granted cert and these interpretations by the ATF and other "alterations" made by the Executive branch get struck down because the language is clear as to what a machine gun is, more than one shot for a pull of the trigger, the language is clear what an SBR is.

I hope in 2021 the 5 of the 9 on our side roll up their sleeves and bulldoze forward with the 2A because we've been under siege for almost a century.
