Yes, my birthday is still aways off, but Linda was working her Gunbroker magic. I came home from an appointment this morning and found this waiting for me-
It's a Webley Model 83 Royal Irish Constabulary revolver in .450 Adams! (Yes, this is the same model that Dr.Watson carried.) Being Linda, of course, she got it from a No Reserve auction for hugely less than the price tag indicates.
The lock-up would do credit to a brand-new revolver, and the trigger is super-smooth. The one-piece walnut grip fits my hand like it was made for me. The bore is decent and the chambers are excellent. I already load .450 Adams, so we're set.
The gun bears the British Broad Arrow acceptance mark, and perhaps the U that flanks it on either side indicates the gun was issues in Ulster?
I absolutely love this gun, and can't wait to shoot it!
