Scope mount 2.jpg
I found a B Square scope mount for my 1903 Springfield, that reportedly attaches to the magazine disconnect without any alterations to the weapon.

Has anyone had any experience with these mounts?

Note - this picture is off the internet - I haven't received mine yet.

The fit of the cutoff pin is critical. Back in the day, B-Square had a range of pins to fit the known cutoff pin sizes. Pretty sure that's not the case, now.

The fit on SC 03A3 is hit and miss; on the 1903 and 1903A1, typically better (and those might have benefited by having some stops to "capture" the rear sight base.

That single-point fixture gets a lot of stress when you put a 6-800 yard scope and sunshades out on it; but less issue with an inexpensive 3-9x aboard.

Thanks for the intel - this is what I needed. I'll be trying an old Weaver K4 scope on it, so relatively small and light. If it don't get the job done, it'll be Door #2 with the SK mount.

Update - the scope mount arrived, and I mounted it on my '03 Springfield. 2 problems became immediately apparent.
1 - With the mount in place of the cutoff switch, you can't remove the bolt.
2 - My Redfield peepsight couldn't lower enough to get back to zero - the mount was in the way. If I had a barrel mounted rear sight it would be fine, but that's not the case.
Bottom line, it's off the rifle and I'm staying with the peep sight. I have another rifle with a scope on it, so not a big deal. The big thing for me with a scope is being able to use the iron sights as well as the scope.
Thanks again for the input guys - much appreciated.
