Bad Guns for Bad Guys

Say you're the costume director for the next Hollywood action flick, and you need to choose a gun for the villain of the story. What's a gun that just looks as if only a bad guy would wield it?

I personally nominate just about any short barrel shotgun for the role. Wicked and wicked looking!

Depends on the BG.
If it's a .gov type; an MP5SD and wonder-nine. If it's a "Deliverance" style redneck; a lever action .30-30, single action Colt, and double barrel shotgun. If it's a buckethead; a modified Sterling.

Thats the problem.
By stereotyping certain firearms as something only bad guys use, this makes owning them more difficult for us others.

I can't remember how many times I have had to explain to people, that, no, this gun is not dangerous because of the way it looks...

Give the BGs in movies your everyday gun people are used to see.
Its not the gun, but the way the BG miss uses it that makes the story.

Maybe a revolver with a cylinder altered to take a floppy disk or even a CD that could MONITOR everybody on the planet and take appropriate cyberactions to control their activities.

Ieally I'd make them dislike guns and be much more sinister about it. Poison, explosives, etc . . . sabatoge weapons. Ya know, like an evil McGyver

For their personal defensive weapon they'd have a S&W 29 because "It was good enough for Dirty Harry".

Hmmm....
You could write the script to have have the bad guy use one of Hitler's handguns!
Or, the gun in question would be like the car from hell... "Christine"!
It would be pieced together from some of the world's most notorious bad guy's guns!
The grip of John Wilkes Booth's pistol! The barrel from Hitler's walther! The
reciever of hinckley's revolver! The Hammer of john dillenger's 1911! and so on and so on...
Yeah! That's the ticket!
It'd be one ugly gun though....
