Barrel twist rate vs Bullet weght

I've noticed that my M-48 yugo Mauser and Swiss K-31 both have a 10-1 or so twist I know my Mauser like's heavy Bullet's will the swiss be the same or is it just a "speculation"of mine that longer twist mean's heavier bullet's?

It might, and it might not. A fast twist will "generally" shoot heavier bullets better, but not always. Your best bet it to just try some ammo before buying in bulk.

Orginial military loads the rifling was designed for:
The K-31 (1 in 10.63") used either 190 round nose, or later, a 174 spitzer grain bullet.

The 8x57 (1 in 240 mm, or 1 in 9.45") used either a 226 round nose, or much later, a 154 grain spitzer.

That ought to tell you something right there.

The bullet that a certain twist rate will shoot well is a function of the BULLET'S LENGTH and not its weight.
That is why some of the Barnes cooper alloy type bullets do not shoot well in certain rifling twist. They are much longer for their weight than a lead core bullet of the same weight.

Likewise a 160 grain round nose 6.5mm bullet is shorter than a 142 grain Sierra hollow-point boat-tail bullet.

Rate of twist merely determines the maximum length bullet the rifle will stabilize. It does not determine what bullet it will shoot well. The faster twist just means that you have a wider choice of bullets to try.

IE: If you have a 22cal with a 1/12 twist you can forget about shooting any of the barnes bullets except for the 36 grain Varmint Grenades (even the 50 grain Barnes probably won't work) because the LENGTH is to long for the twist rate.
