I will be painting the stock of a Maverick 20ga shotgun with Duracoat CavArms pink later this month. No, it's not mine, it's Mom's - she took an outdoors woman class this summer which included trap shooting and now she wants her own "customized" shotgun. (The pink is no surprise - years ago Mom had her S-10 4X4 pickup painted pink)
What I'm wondering is that on the Lauer Weaponry site, they say that you need to put down a white basecoat before shooting the pink. At the site http://www.duracoat-firearm-finishes.com/ they do not say anything about a basecoat before shooting the pink.
Anyone out there used the pink on a black synthetic stock? Did you use a basecoat? Do I need one?
