I've got an older all stainless Taurus 1911 that has really seen the abuse. It's got all kinds of scratches, especially in the matte finish rounded areas. I'd like to get the whole gun refinished in a full satin beadblast finish. Problem is that I don't know any place that does beadblasting refinishing for guns. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've thought about doing a ion-bond type finish like Hard Hat Treatment, but that's a little too expensive to put into a Taurus 1911 if you know what I mean.

Many auto body shops, powder coaters, sign shops, and auto machine shops can do bead blasting. Heck, maybe even your local tomb stone store if he would be willing to clean the emery media out of his lettering blaster.

Call ahead for confirmation before you come marching in with a boom-stick though!

Also, see this thread from just four days ago:

Thanks RC!

What kind of price could I expect for something like this?

I don't have a clue!

I used to have a machine shop guy that was also a gun guy, and he would bead blast gun parts for next to nothing.

But the next machine shop guy might charge you a $150 buck flat rate to get past talking to you about it.
