Hey guys, I tried to glass bed my rem 700 SPS, since free floating doesn't exist in SPS synthetic stocks. So after epoxy hardened I removed the action, cleaned up and put everything back and next day I removed two bumps in forend which kept barrel from free-floating. everything looked nice, four days later I took it to the range to test fire, then it I realize that barrel is no longer free floated, so I added another coating of epoxy, while barrel was supported by thick paper which I put underneath and once again after I removed support few days later barrel end up laying down instead of free floating, so my conclusion is that sps synthetic stock is not rigid enough to support 26" barrel, maybe it requires pillars before glass bedding... So any one successfully tried it glass bedding it without pillars? Now I'm thinking to get Bell & Carlson with aluminum block, because this is not working. However if I slide Kodak picture paper under the bedded barrel portion, which is only 2" from recoil lug, my barrel floats perfectly and it shoots like 0.5" 7 shots group, 3 shots group is like 0.35", anyway I'm still working on the load for it.

Looks like no one succeeded in glass bedding sps alone, well I sort of found simple solution to my problem with heavy grade sandpaper, I just hope thinning sps's nonrigid stock will hold it together, test-fired it yesterday not much of a difference when I fired it with Kodak paper.
