local store has a Nova Tactical, 18" barrel with adjustable Ghost ring sights, for $349 NIB. Is this a good price? How do they stack up in terms of durability to something like a Remington 870?

My only 12 gauge at the moment is a Mossberg 930 Tactical. I used to have a Maverick 88, but i traded it in on the Mossy 930.

In my duck hunting experience the Benelli is as durable as they come. It is almost unfair to compare a Nova to an 870 because they are different in every way except that they both shoot reliably and forever.

That appears to be a good price for a Tactical Nova.

Mr. Trooper,

I've been using a Nova Tactical, 18" barrel with adjustable Ghost ring for the past three years in 3-gun competition. That pump rocks, it runs and runs, and I do beat the semis plenty and often. I really enjoy shooting this shotgun at the steel targets that are presented on many of the stages. I have never had any gun related malfunctions with it. You can take the gun apart for basic maintenance with just the shot tube end cap. I like mine alot. Good luck with your decision.

best regards,

I like mine a lot. Its been 100% reliable, the sights are nice, and the 325$ I paid for it made it a good deal. I like the rotating locking bolt, as well as the mostly tooless takedown. The recoil with 3 1.2 is a bit much for the small recoil pad, I would reccomend swapping it out to a diffrent pad and it will be a lot better to shoot.

I got mine for $319.00. Now I have a Saiga 12 and I am thinking of selling my Nova tactical.
