I got an email from midway usa advertising this air rifle for $150. This would be my second air rifle. I parted ways with my childhood break barrel long ago, in fact i dont know what happened to it. I think my parents tossed it during a move.

Anyway, does anyone have any thoughts or reviews on this rifle? All i am loking for is a medium or descent quality break barrel type air rifle.

Thank you so much.

I don't have that exact model...but I have a Benjamin Trail NP2. I had the predecessor as well and they have indeed made improvements over it.

The NP2 is easier to cock, and it does have a much better trigger than the old version. It's a fun gun to shoot and once I found the right pellet I've enjoyed the accuracy it provides.

I think you'll be happy with it. Like any air gun though...shoot a variety of pellets so you can really find out what it likes. My NP2 likes likes JSB Exact Jumbo RS pellets. It shoots them very well. But everything else ranges from mediocre to terrible.

The predecessor is actually the NPSS, aka RNP. The old Trail has nothing in common with the new one other than name and they're both break barrel guns.
For $150 I think it's worth a try.
