I know there's a lot of guys out there that reload Berdan primed brass, especially rifle. I have a lot of surplus POF .303 Brit. brass in my scrap bucket, which is Berdan primed.

My question is - would it be worthwhile to try to market it that POF .303 brass? Does anybody think it is worth reloading? Even though Berdan primers are becoming more available, it's not something that I want to mess with, but I know some guys do.

Same question regarding 7.5x55 Swiss GP11 brass, I have some of that too. I hate to just sell it all for scrap if someone can use it and I can make a couple bucks as well.

Thanks!

Well, let's just say I wouldn't bother.

But that's my opinion.
Others may differ.

My local scrap yard pays $1.98 for brass.
So if you see a bunch of 'em, they may be worth the effort to collect just for the scrap price.

By the way, Powder Valley Inc, has "some" berdan primers.
Are they the ones you need??? I have no idea.

good luck & please, stay safe.

Oh I agree! Messing with Berdan primed cases isn't in MY future. I just hate to scrap them if someone else likes to reload them and can use them. I'm sure if someone has perfected the technique and has the primers, that it would be worth doing. Not for me though, much too lazy.

Sounds like a good time to use the pay it forward thread.

True. I've given away a LOT of brass over the years, usually the postage too. But I'm trying to raise some cash to fix up my old Harley with. Thinking about getting a table at a gun show to sell off a bunch of excess brass, thought I might add these in as well.

Somebody might want them for sure. The problem is finding the primers as there are so many variations with the Berdan type. I reload the 7.62X39 and 308 Berdan primed brass when the head stamps show I have the correct sized primer pockets for the primers I have on hand, the others go into the recycle bucket. Never found the primers that fit POF brass so I recycle them. The price for cartridge brass is still a good alternative so I am happy with my results.

If it were the only brass on Earth available for a rifle I owned I would consider it. Since Boxer primed .303 brass is available Berdan primers brass is not for me either.
