Anyone know if berdan style primers are available. I got a hydraulic primer punch set and now have a ton of de-primed and sized 7.7x58.

I just received my Prvi Partizan brass. The Lake city has held up really well also. This berdan primer thing is more of that urge to do something new, though, Ill wait till I see some pop up at a gunshow. I saw some PMC LR's about a year ago, 2000 or so. I was gifted 500 semi rimmed cases and turned the rims down and prepped them. Seems like waste to trash them.

Your posts are always informative, helg. That is a very comprehensive list and it's primer dimensions are good to reference.
Thanks.

Old Western Scrounger hasn't had Berdan primers in years. He still finds odd lots at auctions and etc. but he has no steady supply anymore.

These things are common in Europe, Wolf makes them. Why nobody importing at least the common ones? You can still buy those silly Etronics ones for electric-ignition Remington rifles. I would imagine not much demand for those.

Ok, so it is a big pain in the ass. lol. But, it can be done, and i imagine if you shot some obscure caliber, or had a LOT of berdan brass, it'd be worth it.

Berdan primers are not simply Berdan primers.

Not like Boxer primers that just come in sizes Large and Small.

Don't count on your particular batch of Berdan brass being compatible with some arbitrary batch of Berdan primers that "look about right."
