Beretta 71, Non-US Parts Source?

I have been looking, in vain, for a short 3.5in. .22 barrel for a Beretta Model 71 here in the US. In previous posts I've read of dirt-cheap 71s being available overseas, South Africa stands out, and parts should also be available. How easy/legal would it be to source a part like that overseas and have it shipped here?

I have no idea but if you do find someone overseas with Beretta parts, please ask to see if they've got any mags. I could sure use another one.
