What is a good price for Beretta 92 15rnd magazines? I'm new to "high capacity" autos and really have no clue what the price should be now that the AWB is gone.

I know the factory mags are best, but are any of the aftermarket ones good as well? I've seen Eagle, ProMag, Mec-Gar, GI Mags, and "Asian Military". Which ones are good and which ones are trash? What about prices for the 3rd party mags?

Thanks,
Chris

I posted a while back that my Asian Military Mags were just fine.

However, the springs seemed very weak so I replaced them with +10% springs from Wolf.

After about a year (I didn't use them very much) I started to get misfeeds. It appears that the stronger springs pushed the feed lips apart and the round would "pop out" of the top of the mag as it started to feed.

I "adjusted" the feed lips, put the old weak springs back in and have had no trouble since.

FWIW

I am looking for Beretta factory mags now.

New factory mags are expensive for what they are, but they are the best.

The Asian mags work, but they are a bit softer metal.

Eagle mags, I don't know how long they will last, but they work so far too.

Might be worth it to buy a NIB Beretta just for the free mags! :D

Thanks for the info. I think I'm fine on mags for the time being. I have 2 factory, 2 "unknown but reliable" mags, and a 35rounder that I'm debating on whether or not I want to keep. The other 4 are 15rnd mags.

BTW, I've noticed an infrequent problem with my gun and I think it's mag related. Three times in nearly 400 rounds, the slide will lock back with one round left in the mag. If I hit the slide release, it closes and chambers the last round. Any idea what might be causing it? I've since cleaned the mags, but haven't been able to get out to the range to test again. It only happened on the two factory mags, but I use them the most.

My asian mags needed new springs after a year of use. I got +5% wolffe springs, seems to feed fine but I've only put a few rounds through one mag.

The asian mags seem to be made of thinner sheet metal than the factory 10-rounders. I see used factory 15 rounders for $20, but you should plan on replacing the springs. Need to get some to replace my 10 rounders.

Anyone have any mecgar 20's and like them?

I'd also get the 93r 20's, if they were available. They should be able to import them now.

The consensus on the Beretta forum is either factory or Mecgar.I have been buying prebans for $25-40 used. But my local gunstore last week had LEO new Beretta mags for $39.95.Yeah!

I have 3 Italian mags, 2 American factory and 1 Asian...all feed well but the Asian mag haas a tendency to crash into the grip panels when driving towards the mag well....

I use asian mags that I bought for $20 a piece about 5 years ago. They function well, but the exterior dimensions are somehow wrong and stick in the magwell of my pistol instead of dropping out when I hit the mag release button.

I bought a pair of 15-rounders from Mec-Gar last month. Figuring in shipping, they were $29.00 each.
