Hello,

I'm trying to source a sear bar, also known alternately as a cocking piece, for a Bersa Lusber 844. The part is identical to those found in the models 84, 622, and 644.

Here's a detail from the schematic; it is part #44. 278df1edcdf6f500352b35b9304dd378.jpg

I have already checked off Jack First, Popperts, Numrich, and sellers on eBay and GunBroker.

Any assistance in facilitating my search would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

I went on E-Bay and searched for Bersa 844. This item was fourth one on the page that came up. It also lists the vendor information.

Try gunpartscorp.com. They have a part very similar to the one for your Model 844. It's listed as being for the Model 85 and is part number 1133220A Cocking Piece, in stock for $6

The item on eBay is the mainspring and rod. I need the sear bar.

As I mentioned in my OP, I tried Numrich and they are out of stock for the four models that used the same part. The Bersa 85 is different at the top and has an additional reinforcement on the foot, probably a response to the weak design used in prior models.

I think the only solution at this point is to either find a gunsmith with a box o' Bersa bits in the back room or giving up and start parting mine out on eBay.

Try Jack first in s. Dakota. They are high but they even fabricate small parts. Also find bersa's distributor in us, they may be able to help with parts.

I reached out to a GunBroker seller who let me know he has one out of a model 644, which is the same design in .22LR. I just ordered it. I hope it works.

Thank all, for the comments and information.

Did you get the hammer spring assembly? I am trying to locate the takedown latch, spring , and plug. I know of two sources for the hammer spring assembly. Please let me know because I may part mine out if I can't find the takedown latch or have one fabricated.
