best 308WIN rifle between $1.000 thru $2.000

I need to buy a new bolt action rifle on 308 win , not for hunting ,just target at 500 thru 800 yards...
what's the best one I can buy with $2.000,00 ???

An FN SPR fits in the price range nicely. And it's ready to go out of the box. Mine is about .5MOA with the right storebought ammo, could probably bring that even smaller if I handloaded.

The best 1-2K rifle for shooting that range is a less than 1K rifle with a more than 1K optic on top.

Take you pick from any number of very accurate out of the box bolt rifles that can easily be had for less than 1K....and even better if you buy it used.

testosterone does speak the truth, glass is a very important part. I assumed that the OP was just speaking about the price of the rifle itself though.

if i just wanted a TARGET rifle, i'd buy that savage F/TR for $1200ish

if i wanted a practical/precision rifle that would be good for targets too, i agree with the FN SPR suggestion.
