I'm very happy with my comp tac paddle holster. Very sturdy and doesn't move around at all. The people at the company are a real pleasure to deal with also. They try very hard to please their customers.

welcome to thr. i prefer the blade tech paddles they are a little ricy but they are worth it, and they are well built and serve you for long long time.

Blackhawk CQC with Serpa retention system, but I think they are currently limited to 1911's and Beretta 92's. I had a Michaels of Oregon for a while and got rid of it. It was a POS. Replaced it with a Fobus and liked that better.

they make holsters for many more makes and models. i have one for my xd.

Another vote for comp-tac. I have their paddle holster as well as an IWB from them. Like avpro said they aim to please, and will keep you informed on the processing of your order. I had a lil prob with the billing on the site(my computer messed up and I got billed twice, but they didnt actually get the order the first time). I emailed them explaining the issue, the next day I got an email for a credit. They also dont take months to get your order done(like I hear about other companies). I ordered 2 holsters and a belt and had them in about a week.

I've been researching a kydex OWB holster for my M&P. I was going to post a new question but I'm thinking hard on the comptac.
Everyone seems to like them.

How well do they retain the gun and is the tension of the holster adjustable?

My Hi-Power fits the Comp-Tac holster perfectly. The holster is adjustable and they even throw in an allen wrench. I left mine adjusted the way it came. The gun clicks in, but is still easy to remove. The gun hasn't tried to bounce out yet, so I guess it is adjusted properly.

My favorite: Blackhawk SERPA (see blackhawk.com, holsters). There are several different levels of retention that are offered, and the holsters are offered for many makes and models, even the J-Frame revolvers. Good luck.

For me Comp-Tac all the way. It's slim, secures the gun well and is stable on my 1.5" gun belt. I like the settable cant version so I can use it as cross-draw on long road trips. I have one for an M&P9 as well as the slide version for 1911. I only use a paddle when I know I'm going to need to remove the gun and holster for some specific reason. I have a Serpa CQC that I like but it is impossible to remove without unbuckling the pants. I like the retention and mostly use it for open carry around the house with belt option because even with the paddle it's still pretty much a belt holster.

Also Comp-Tac's customer service and delivery times are about the best I have experienced with ANY online vendor.

BladeTech... They are very well built and very fast. I like Comp Tac for IWB, but I only shoot competitions with BladeTech.
