I shoot home cast lead bullets in revolvers. Most reloading manuals have more data for jacketed bullets than cast lead. In your experience, which manuals have the most comprehensive lists for lead bullets? Thanks for your guidance.

The Lyman cast bullet handbook 4th edition is the best base manual I’ve found. But, I also have the RCBS cast bullet book, as well as having the online resource of the Lyman cast 3rd (which I’ve read in person). I also have a loadbooks.com one book one caliber manual for my pet cartridges and that includes the older Lyman 3rd data and RCBS data.

The Lyman cast bullet manual is great but the regular Lyman manual has cast bullet data in it a well and it has some different bullets and data than the cast manual.

When the books were published probably accounts for the differences.

Yep, Lyman Cast Bullet Handbooks. I lost my 2nd Edition, but between the 3rd and 4th Editions I prefer the 3rd. I haven't noticed any loads in the 4th that are missing in the 3rd, but the "front" half in the 3rd seems more over all "user friendly". The 4th is good for black powder cartridge loaders...

I got mine off eBay for in the $25 range. It’s not great but it helps for specifics data if you load RCBS bullets. The front section was interesting but didn’t really teach me anything new. Course I already was an avid caster. I’d say it was as vague as the Lyman was on actual technique but in a different way. I do like it though and use it probably as much as anything else, but only because I use a lot of RCBS moulds.

The only reason to get a rcbs manual is if you cast their bullets. I was loading the 180 sil which is unique enough I wanted specific data... and I like old books.

I have an RCBS Cast Bullet Manual somewhere in my shop. When I got my first Lyman manual I had no need for the RCBS and it kinda drifted to the back of the shelf. Now 4 Lyman manuals later I may not be able to find it...
