Looking for your experience on various universal sight pushers; definitely need a rear sight pusher for several guns (P938, Beretta 92, 1911), but would prefer one that will do most front and rear sights. Who makes the best one?

The MGW tool works nicely but is expensive. drband, that XD link you post is common. I have never seen a gun with tighter factory sights. The fit is incredibly tight. Almost as if they use a hydraulic press to install it! I would agree with the brass drift for 1911, Glock, Smith and Wesson, Sig autos, if one understands file fitting prior to the installation attempt.

I purchased the first ine you show from amazon. Works okay for the price. You still have to start the sights in a quarter of the way or so but then just turn the knob, very easy. For the money i am happy with it, used on a pps and a glock 36 so far.

I have used several different types of sight pushers. The worst one I have ever used was the Uni200L now sold by Kimber. The wall was so thin it cracked after about 20 uses. They refused to replace it but would sell me the upgraded one for $120 extra! No thanks! I ended up purchasing a Fisher sight tool. It was much heavier duty and has stood the test of time. Make sure to lube the drive bolt threads with grease. I used a ratcheting box end wrench to push the sight in place. Always fit your sights before pushing. There are plenty of videos out there on that. Fisher now makes an upgraded sight tool called the XL. It has different inserts for various slide shapes. Always make sure to place a plastic shim between the slide and insert so you don't scratch the slide. The Beretta finish is a baked on finish and will chip if too much force is applied. Put electrical tape on the contact surface of the Beretta slide before placing the plastic shim between it and the insert clamp. Hope that helps.

Thanks to those who responded with their experience with sight pushers. For others, I should note that I have also moved sights with a brass punch, but my current issue is on some SIGlite sights on a P938 that I can't move with a brass punch, at least within the limits of hitting it up to the point where I'm worried about rupturing the tritium sights. And, no, they are not staked.
