Hi, I am considering buying some more surplus .308 ammo. I already bought a bunch of Prvi Partizan from Wideners and still waiting on the deal to go through. So, I like to get some more of this ammo. I know many people are saying ammo will make a massive drop in price, but I am really not so confident. Also, many others are telling me with Obama and are now Attornery General Eric Holder in power, mil surplus ammo will dry up and not being coming back to the civilian market.

Well, to the point, I am considering getting a case of the Portugeuse Surplus Brass Cased Ammo. I also see some of the Radway Green British Surplus being sold on stripper clips. The RG seems to be cheaper and I also hear you can reuse your brass. Some people are telling me the Portuguese is superior to the RG. Can anyone tell me, between the two which they prefer? The fact that the British is around 0.55 a round and the portguese can end me up costing from 0.60 - 0.70 a round and I cannot reuse the brass, would you think it would be better to go with RG British? Does anyone know if the Portuguese is signiticantly better than the British RG or is the difference miniscule?

Any other suggestions? Anyone prefer Prvi Partizan SP or FMJ .308 to either of the two?

Is MilSurplus Ammo Really on its way out?

I can't really comment on all that you put up for consideration, but I can on a bit.
First, the Prvi is not surplus, but commercial ammo that really doesn't figure into your "surplus" calculations.
While the British RG is very good ammo, I would give the accuracy edge to the Portuguese, however both are Berdan primed and not easily reloadable.
